Pottery Process

We toured a pottery factory, so much of the process is manual. Here are four simple steps we were told that occur to bring a piece to life.

Step 1: sand from the river is dryed and sifted

Step 2: sand is mixed with water and minerals to form clay

Step 3: artist form pots in various shapes using templates and molds

Step 4: clay pots are fired in a GIANT kiln
(easily the most impressive part of the process)

step 5: enjoy the finished product!
